Job Description

As a General Facilities Maintenance Technician, your primary responsibility is to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart stores. You’ll perform routine maintenance, repair, and inspections of our facilities and equipment. Working under the supervision of the General Maintenance Manager, you’ll keep our stores running smoothly, enhancing the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities and equipment using multiple craft skills (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment).
• Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Conduct inspections, diagnose issues, and operate facilities equipment.
• Utilize the work order management system to track repairs and document activities.
• Complete required training to safely operate tools and equipment.

Requirements

• 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and frequently climb ladders.
• Comfortable working at heights and in varying temperatures.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Vocational or technical certification and 1 year of experience in trades like plumbing, electrical, or related fields, or 2 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of a 2-year vocational or technical trade program.
• Licenses in related trades and proficiency in tools like Word, Excel, and Outlook.
