Job Description
As a Senior Safety Architect, you will play a pivotal role in defining and evaluating the safety architecture for NVIDIA’s autonomous vehicle systems. This position involves working closely with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve or exceed industry safety standards and guidelines. Your contributions will directly support NVIDIA’s mission of bringing safe and reliable autonomous vehicle technology to the world.
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to define safety architecture and requirements for autonomous vehicles.
- Develop and refine autonomous driving safety metrics in collaboration with experts in perception, deep learning, path planning, and safety architecture.
- Enhance tools and processes for data-driven safety evaluation.
- Communicate safety readiness results effectively to stakeholders and management.
Candidate Requirements
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of relevant industry experience.
- A structured approach to systems and software development.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional efforts in architecture, design, or verification.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ADAS or autonomous vehicle systems.
- Proficiency in data science and statistics.
- Knowledge of machine learning and robotics.
- Familiarity with verification and validation (V&V) of safety-critical systems and sensor technologies (e.g., radar, lidar, cameras).
- Understanding of system safety methodologies such as FMEA, FTA, and STPA.
- Familiarity with safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61508, UL4600, ISO 21448).
