Job Description

As Senior Counsel, you will provide legal support to Tesla’s supply chain operations, focusing on the procurement of goods and services. You will also handle transactions supporting Tesla’s broader business units, including energy storage products, charging solutions, and Supercharger network expansion. This role requires an innovative legal professional who can navigate complex agreements and regulatory challenges, ensuring Tesla’s continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a high volume and diverse range of commercial contracts, such as:
  • Supply agreements
  • Technology licensing agreements
  • Development agreements
  • Real estate and leasing agreements
  • Confidentiality agreements
• Advise on strategic, regulatory, and transactional matters for Tesla’s supply chain team and other business units.
• Facilitate resolution of legal disputes, including breach of contract claims.
• Prepare and maintain contract templates to streamline Tesla’s operations.
• Collaborate with global colleagues to ensure consistency in contracts and risk management across Tesla’s various businesses.

Candidate Requirements

• Educational Background: J.D. with a current license to practice in at least one U.S. state or Washington, DC.
• Experience: A minimum of 8 years of legal practice, with a mix of law firm and in-house experience preferred.
• Skills and Attributes:
  • Strong communication skills, with business-level fluency in English (Spanish, German, or other languages are a plus).
  • A team-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High ethical standards and sound judgment.
  • Intellectual curiosity and adaptability to dynamic changes.

Compensation and Benefits

Tesla offers a competitive salary range of $172,000 – $318,000 annually, plus cash and stock awards. As a full-time Tesla employee, you will also receive:
