Tesla, a leader in AI and robotics innovation, is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer specializing in Geometric Vision to join its Self-Driving team in Palo Alto, California. This is a full-time position where you’ll play a pivotal role in advancing one of the world’s most sophisticated computer vision systems. Responsibilities
As a Machine Learning Engineer in Tesla’s Self-Driving team, you will:
- Develop and enhance models for geometric entity estimation using both modern neural network-based and classical vision techniques.
- Utilize extensive fleet data to innovate and validate algorithms.
- Design and implement automated data pipelines to generate high-quality ground truth data for real-world perception challenges.
- Scale and deploy your work across millions of Tesla vehicles globally.
- Collaborate with a highly skilled team committed to realizing full autonomous driving.
Requirements
We’re looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to quickly prototype and optimize algorithms.
- Proficiency in writing production-level Python code; C++ expertise is highly desirable.
- Solid foundation in linear algebra, geometry, probabilistic theory, numerical optimization, and deep learning with practical implementation experience.
- Expertise in core computer vision and robotics areas, including structure-from-motion, Visual-Inertial SLAM, large-scale mapping and localization, dense 3D modeling, or neural rendering (e.g., NeRF, Gaussian Splatting).
- Hands-on experience with PyTorch.
- Familiarity with deploying neural network models is a plus.

Compensation
Tesla offers competitive compensation, with an annual salary ranging from $140,000 to $360,000, including cash and stock awards, along with the comprehensive benefits detailed above. Final pay may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and experience.
