Job Description

As a Material Handler, you’ll be at the heart of FedEx operations, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of packages, documents, heavyweight freight, and dangerous goods. This role involves building and breaking down pallets, working closely with repair vendors for unit load devices (ULDs), and maintaining a secure and organized workspace. Whether handling lightweight or heavy shipments, your contribution will be critical in ensuring FedEx delivers on its promise of timely and reliable service.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely to move packages and freight.
• Build and dismantle pallets containing heavyweight freight.
• Act as a liaison between FedEx and ULD repair vendors.
• Perform tasks that require lifting, stacking, and maneuvering packages in various environments.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain awareness during all tasks.
• Execute other duties as assigned to support operational needs.

Candidate Requirements

• Education: No formal education is required for this role.
• Experience: No prior experience needed; FedEx provides comprehensive training.
• Skills and Physical Abilities:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. independently and maneuver heavier packages with equipment or assistance.
  • Comfortable performing physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, squatting, and climbing stairs for extended periods.
  • Capable of working in diverse weather conditions.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate in a noisy operations environment.
  • Valid driver’s license for operating motorized equipment.
• Must successfully complete basic and recurring training programs.

Compensation and Benefits
