Job Description

As an Automotive Technician at UPS, you’ll maintain a diverse range of equipment, from delivery vehicles to heavy-duty tractors and trailers. Our fleet includes diesel, gasoline, and alternative technology power plants such as compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electric systems. Your role will involve troubleshooting and maintaining various systems, including hydraulic and air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls.

This position requires flexibility, as shifts can vary from 2nd or 3rd shifts, and schedules may include Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday, or Tuesday through Saturday.

Key Responsibilities

• Meet D.O.T requirements as per job assignment.
• Perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, climbing, and walking frequently.
• Operate both standard and manual transmission vehicles.
• Use power and pneumatic tools effectively.
• Maintain compliance with Power Industrial Truck Operations (PITO) certification.
• Ensure workplace safety by wearing required personal protective equipment.

Qualifications and Skills

• Current documented automotive mechanical experience.
• Proficiency with diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computers.
• Possession of a complete set of personal hand tools.
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred.
• Ability to work 8-10 hour shifts, 4-5 days per week, with flexibility for overtime.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a diverse environment.
• Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and environments.
