Job Description
Are you a hands-on leader with a passion for automotive operations? UPS is seeking a dedicated Automotive Fleet Supervisor to ensure the safety, reliability, and cost-efficiency of our fleet, which includes ground support and street vehicles. In this role, you’ll supervise a team of skilled mechanics, manage external vendor relationships, and perform regular equipment and facility audits to maintain operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and oversee Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMIs) and repair work.
- Conduct vehicle audits to ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and appearance standards.
- Analyze equipment or vehicle system failures to identify root causes and implement solutions.
- Monitor key expenses (e.g., fuel, parts, labor) and develop cost-saving strategies.
- Ensure regulatory compliance through audits and safety training coordination.
- Supervise and evaluate mechanics, providing continuous feedback and development plans.
- Verify external-vendor repairs and prepare repair orders and cost estimates.
- Manage inventory levels for parts, tires, and other supplies essential to operations.
Qualifications
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship).
- Willingness to work on-site in Tulsa, OK or relocate at your own expense.
- Solid knowledge of mechanical maintenance, vehicle diagnostics, and repair.
- Experience in regulatory compliance and safety management.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Ability to manage vendor relationships and oversee large-scale repairs and equipment inspections.
Skills and Knowledge
- Understanding of company policies and procedures to guide decision-making.
- Knowledge of fleet operation fundamentals, including cost control and asset management.
- Ability to build strong labor relations in a unionized environment.
- Familiarity with purchasing and expense approval processes.
