Responsibilities

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will take the lead in shaping the vision and strategy for streamlining deployment and optimizing the operations of Microsoft Purview solutions across specialized clouds, ensuring compliance with rigorous security and regulatory standards. You will define the technical direction for your area, collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management, security experts, and engineering to align on requirements, build consensus, and ensure the seamless delivery of complex features. You will also mentor engineers, facilitate technical discussions, and promote best practices, all while ensuring that the subsystem meets scalability, security, and performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of a critical subsystem within a large-scale, exabyte-scale security data platform.
• Foster consensus across partner teams, aligning technical decisions and project objectives.
• Work closely with product management, security experts, data scientists, and engineering teams to convert business needs into effective technical solutions.
• Oversee the full development lifecycle of features, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Mentor senior engineers and promote technical excellence, ensuring best practices are consistently followed.
• Optimize subsystem performance to efficiently handle large volumes of security data, while maintaining scalability, availability, and security.
• Champion continuous improvement by integrating new technologies and methodologies to enhance the platform’s capabilities.
