Job Description
As a Machine Learning Engineer specializing in Motion Planning for self-driving vehicles, you will leverage one of the world’s largest training clusters and millions of miles of driving data to design scalable, learning-based autonomous systems. Your work will directly impact the performance of Tesla’s self-driving capabilities and be utilized by millions of Tesla owners globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Enhance Models: Build robust, scalable end-to-end self-driving systems using millions of miles of driving data.
- Innovate with Cutting-Edge Techniques: Apply generative modeling, imitation learning, and reinforcement learning to improve vehicle planning and decision-making capabilities.
- Optimize Data Collection: Experiment with data generation and fleet data collection methods to improve the diversity and quality of training data.
- Integrate with Vehicle Systems: Work closely with firmware teams to deploy production-quality, safety-critical software across Tesla’s fleet.
Requirements
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Python and major deep learning frameworks, combined with solid software engineering practices.
- Deep Learning Knowledge: In-depth understanding of modern deep learning architectures, optimization techniques, and model alignment.
- Proven Experience: Hands-on experience deploying large-scale production ML models in fields like self-driving, robotics, or NLP.
- C++ Proficiency: Comfort with C++ to enable seamless integration with vehicle firmware and production environments.
