Responsibilities
As a Deep Learning Manipulation Engineer, your primary tasks will include:
- Designing and developing Tesla’s learned robotic manipulation software stack and algorithms.
- Creating robotic manipulation capabilities such as re-grasping, pick-and-place, and more complex behaviors.
- Modeling robotic manipulation processes to enable analysis, simulation, planning, and control.
- Developing algorithms to handle uncertainty in measurements and environmental interactions.
- Contributing to software architecture design, including subsystem interfaces.
- Shipping production-quality, safety-critical software.
- Collaborating with a world-class team focused on deploying bi-ped humanoid robots in real-world scenarios.
Candidate Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should bring the following skills and experiences:
- Proficiency in production-level modern C++ or Python.
- Expertise in deep imitation learning or reinforcement learning applied to realistic scenarios.
- Familiarity with tactile and vision-based robotics learning.
- Proven experience training and deploying real-world neural networks.
- Strong background in 3D computer vision and graphics pipelines.
- Knowledge of Natural Language Processing and distributed deep learning systems.
- Experience in Robotics, State Estimation, Visual Odometry, SLAM, or 3D Reconstruction.
