Job Overview

The Customs Trade Coordinator is responsible for managing the documentation required for the import of goods into the United States. You’ll ensure shipments meet all regulatory requirements, coordinate with U.S. Customs and government agencies, and provide exceptional customer service. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, is highly organized, and is eager to learn about international trade and customs operations.


Key Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll take on the following tasks:

  • Manage import documentation for U.S. Customs clearance.
  • Accurately classify goods using databases, SOPs, tariff books, and online resources.
  • Process various import-related documents and ensure they comply with regulations.
  • Maintain shipment records to meet all record-keeping requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external customers, brokers, and government agencies to ensure seamless shipment processing.
  • Handle agency brokerage shipments and remote filings.
  • Ensure all organizational and government policies are followed to the letter.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service to resolve inquiries promptly.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position, offering a steady Sunday-Thursday schedule:

  • Monday-Thursday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM EST
  • Sunday: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM EST

Some flexibility may be offered with hybrid remote work options based on company policy.


Candidate Requirements

We’re looking for a motivated individual who meets the following qualifications:

Required:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Work Experience: At least 6 months of general work experience (no specific industry experience required).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in data entry and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word).
  • Soft Skills: Strong verbal and written communication, organizational skills, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to handle high volumes of work and meet time-sensitive deadlines with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with office equipment (printer, scanner, fax).
  • Experience working with multiple systems and databases.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
