Your Role

As a Base OS Kernel Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in enabling the next generation of AI and HPC platforms built on NVIDIA Grace Superchips. Your responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with external partners to optimize kernels and distros for Grace platforms.
• Partnering with Hardware and Firmware teams to bring up new NVIDIA platforms, ensuring seamless OS boot processes.

Requirements

We are seeking candidates with a strong technical foundation and a passion for innovation. Here’s what we’re looking for:

• Educational Background: BS or Master’s in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in relevant fields.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in C and Python programming, with a solid understanding of Linux distributions (e.g., Ubuntu, RedHat, SLES).
• System Knowledge: Familiarity with OS concepts such as filesystems, job scheduling, device drivers, and storage systems.
• Debugging Skills: Experience with system-level debugging.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal and planning abilities.

Bonus Skills

Set yourself apart with:

• Knowledge of PCIe, USB, or similar low-level protocols.
• Experience with UEFI and BMC firmware.
• Exposure to open-source development processes, including GitHub workflows.
• Understanding of virtualization techniques like device passthrough and SR-IOV.
